Introducing Labour's Candidate for the Newbridge By-Election

Pam Richards

I have lived in Newbridge for over 40 years, working as a Social Services manager with older people and people with disabilities.  Now I am retired, I enjoy looking after my grandchildren and having time to campaign on local issues.  I was heavily involved in the successful campaign to stop plans for a Bus Rapid Transit route cutting through Newbridge.  I currently co-ordinate a campaign group (Protect Our NHS) to try and stop cuts, privatisation and fragmentation to the NHS locally.

I am an experienced campaigner and a former Bath councillor, I have a strong track record of working with local people and getting things done.   We need more Labour councillors to fight for the services our community needs, oppose damaging cuts to local services made by both Conservative and Liberal Democrat run councils.

Labour Works For You

As your Labour councillor, I will challenge the austerity policies of this
Tory government which are destroying local services, pushing up the council tax, and hurting the most
vulnerable people in our community.
