The Great Get Together

We have more in common than that which divides us’ – Jo Cox

A wonderful community gathering of friends and family arranged by Bath Labour Party took place on Sunday 18th June. The event was part of a nationwide neighbourhood celebrations to mark the 1st anniversary of the death of Jo Cox.  This was just one of over 110,000 events inspired by the Jo Cox Foundation, with the aim of bringing us closer together to celebrate all that we have in common. .  Over 100 people brought along, and shared, their picnics in a spirit of unity and comradeship.

A collection raised £235, which will be shared between the Jo Cox Foundation  and Bath Welcomes Refugees.  The collection is still open, please take any donations to the Bath Labour office in Walcot Street, which is open week days from 10-30 – 1pm

Many thanks to Michelle Young, and her team, for organising this poignant but happy event, which it is hoped will be repeated in the future.
