macmillan_coffee2017.jpgBath Labour Party is holding a coffee morning to help raise funds for MacMillan Cancer Support. The event will take place on:

Saturday 30 September 11am-2pm at the Labour Party Office, 136a Walcot Street, Bath

To make the coffee morning a success, we need lots of cakes to sell – of any sort from sponge to brownies – and we need your help to bake them.

Beguiled by the splendour of The Great British Bake Off, we also intend to hold a baking competition with a £2 entry fee. If you would like help with the baking or enter the competition please email info@bathlabourl.org.uk by 23 September.

Of course, the main way you can help is to come along on 30 September and buy some cakes!

The Great Get Together

We have more in common than that which divides us’ – Jo Cox

A wonderful community gathering of friends and family arranged by Bath Labour Party took place on Sunday 18th June. The event was part of a nationwide neighbourhood celebrations to mark the 1st anniversary of the death of Jo Cox.  This was just one of over 110,000 events inspired by the Jo Cox Foundation, with the aim of bringing us closer together to celebrate all that we have in common. .  Over 100 people brought along, and shared, their picnics in a spirit of unity and comradeship.

A collection raised £235, which will be shared between the Jo Cox Foundation https://www.jocoxfoundation.org/  and Bath Welcomes Refugees.  The collection is still open, please take any donations to the Bath Labour office in Walcot Street, which is open week days from 10-30 – 1pm

Many thanks to Michelle Young, and her team, for organising this poignant but happy event, which it is hoped will be repeated in the future.

The Great Get Together

Bring & Share Picnic at Walcot Open Space, Walcot Gate, Bath on Sunday 18th June from 11am until 2pm

As part of The Great Get Together, a community event organised by The Jo Cox Foundation (www.jocoxfoundation.org) to mark the anniversary of her death, Bath Labour Party is holding a bring & share picnic on the old burial ground behind Walcot Chapel. Some of you may remember this as the site of the Walcot Festival back in the ‘70s.

This is a community event, open to all, a chance to enjoy being together and to celebrate what we have in common, so bring your family and friends along (not forgetting a picnic and something to sit on).

Look forward to seeing you there.
